OVER VRIJHEID / STADSSCHOUWBURG NIJMEGEN
What do you mean by freedom? What does freedom mean to us today in today's society?
In the Netehrlands we celebrate 75 years of freedom.
Artists Machteld Aardse and Femke Kempkes are curious about how we experience freedom today. What does freedom mean in our current modern and free society? What gives you a feeling of freedom? When did you experience that? Where was this?
Together with the Stadsschouwburg of Nijmegen, Aardse and Kempkes are building a lightprojection that will be visible to everyone on the outside of the building from December 7 - December 21, 2019. Handwritten texts and images about freedom will be seen on the facade of the Stadsschouwburg. Texts and iconic images based on conversations with residents of the city of Nijmegen; young and old, old and new. Meetings are organized in the form of 'freedom cafe's'.
December 21 from 7 pm the choir of 'the future of a past' performed.
