Sea Choir Nieuwdiepervisserskoor
The ‘Nieuwdiepervisserskoor’, is a choir from Den Helder, the Netherlands, consisting of nearly 100 men and some women who all have a connection to the sea. Among them are fishermen, navy veterans, captains, sailors, cooks and repairers of nets. Intrigued by their love for the sea and their stories, Machteld Aardse portrayed nearly all of them. In return, the choir performed during the light project ‘Halen & Brengen’ on the facade of Theatre de Kampanje in Den Helder in 2019.
